The theatre of dolphins

Now supplanted by a gigantic theme park located a few kilometres inland, the dolphinarium in Riccione, built in 1962, was the first of its kind in Europe. A relic of an era when the specificity of a development was expressed in all its directness, this pool presents the peculiarity of being entirely above ground, the demonstration walkway being accessed by means of a long ramp winding around the pool. On the upper floor, the somersaults of the dolphins are therefore set off against the seaside landscape of the Adriatic.
